Smooth as glass

As usual Cee issued a great challenge, Things That Are Smooth, so a quick look back in the archives to a blace I’d like to return to, Kayaking on the Great Dismal Swamp. I took these two photos on “The Feeder Ditch”, a 3 mile branch feeds water from Lake Drummond to the canal itself.

Yes, the water is dead flat! And is “blackwater”, the color of a strong Tea, caused by decaying leaves, etc. Paddling that day on the canal back in August of 2013, the smooth water and not a noise or bird call mande the kayak trip unearthly.

About Mike

I'm an avid bicyclist, that also enjoys Kayaking, Nature Photography, Cross Country Skiing and Geocaching. There's nothing more boring than sitting indoors in "good" weather.
