Twas The Day Before Christmas

Sister Bernadette’s last dash to the mall before Christmas had unforeseen consequences. She’d barely gotten through the doors when she thought she’d made the biggest mistake. She should not have waited to the last-minute to shop for her brother, a rotund Friar known around the Monastery as Friar Tuck. And she needed to shop for Sister Superior too.

The crowds were horrendous, but somehow she was able to spot a small girl calling for her mom. “Well,” she thought “Duty calls!” The kindly sister approached the small girl crying her heart out. Seems like she lost her mom and didn’t know where to start looking.

Taking her by the hand they went to the mall office, and surprise! Mom was waiting in tears. It was then that Sister Bernadette was the to have a surprise too. The missing mom was of her students in her sixth-grade class many years ago, and now worked as a gift consultant. The day quickly turned brighter.
