Plenty of Stone, but few Rocks

5-fffaw-01-02-17Working in rivers had one advantage for the artist, he had plenty of rocks at hand for building what some called Cairns, but he just thought of them as Balancing Rocks or Stone Sculptures. When he arrived in the mountains far from his home things were really different.

The stones were not as smooth as river rocks, and advantage. But although almost everything arround him was stone, there were precious few he would call rocks that he could carry. For a while he just sat and admired the stonework of the Master. Then he went looking or more, soon realizing that they were too big to carry back, so he used them where he found them and that they might never be seen except by the occasional hiker or explorer.

Thanks also go out to Grant-Sud for this week’s photo and inspiration to try some of my own.

  2. Nice story Mike! I didn’t realize that balancing rocks are called cairns. Your story went perfect with the photo prompt! Very nice!
