It’s Not May Yet, But The Apples Are Here

Not being a flower person, but liking nature photography I’m always on the lookout for an interesting subject. Yesterday was no exception, but I did take time to look down and wonder what lie beneath the leaves of the Mayapple plants. What a surprise! There are Mayapples, and May doesn’t start till tomorrow. If you’ve taken a walk in the woods those ankle high plants with large 4-9 lobed leaves are Mayapple, you have to get down on your knees to see the flower and the ‘apple’, which is poisonous.
